PARENTIS-EN-BORN
It is a part of the Association of local authorities of the Great Lakes which is an intermunicipal structure.
Situated in 9 km of "La Réserve" in Gastes, Parentis-en-Born extends around the second biggest lake of Landes which wears the name of the municipality.
Situated in a diversified natural environment, Parentis-en-Born will allow you to take advantage of nautical pleasures on lakes surroundings but also on the Atlantic Coast. . The nature is always for the meeting with the forest from the Landes and the presence not far from there of the Regional Park of Landes of Gascony.
The Country of Born extends over 114.080 ha.
It is lined in the North by the Country of Buch, by the East by the High Moor, in the South by Marensin, by the West by the Atlantic Ocean.
Its main cities are Mimizan, Parentis-en-Born and Biscarrosse.
It associates three types of landscapes:
- a littoral fringe stretching on 45 km, between Sanguinet and Saint-Julien-en-Born.:
-vast ponds, among which that of Cazaux-Sanguinet, Parentis-Biscarrosse, Aureilhan, Malloueyre.
- the forest, shared enters the forest said about protection, essentially state-owned situated behind dunes and forest said about production, essentially deprived, situated in internal zone, essentially planted in the XIXth century for the purification and the stake in culture of Landes of Gascony.
